Honoring Veterans, Remembering the Fallen at Indy

On Memorial Day Weekend, many people in the US spend time remembering and honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving the country. This year 5.11 partnered with Always Evolving racing team to honor the fallen as well as veterans with a unique Indianapolis 500 experience. We connected with a group of veterans and their families and families of fallen soldiers through Folds of Honor. The group was trackside at the Indy 500, “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing,” on May 23 and 24, 2015, where they met the Always Evolving team and driver, and experienced racing like a VIP.

“5.11 is proud to partner with Always Evolving to highlight the meaningful work of Folds Of Honor for fallen and wounded soldiers and their families,” said Bob Neapole, Chief Revenue Officer at 5.11 Tactical “As we honor the sacrifices of so many this Memorial Day, we feel it is very fitting to share the Folds of Honor mission with Indianapolis 500 fans.”

The Always Evolving Racing Team provided the Folds of Honor veterans VIP-level access to the team, crew, pit and garage areas, and pre-race activities. While visiting the team in the garage area, FOH veterans and families put a thumbprint on the rear wing of the car as part of RePlay XD #MakeYourMark program.

Each veteran received a Replay XD camera to use during the race events, and the Always Evolving team captured many of these touching and meaningful moments as veterans and families honored each other and remembered those who have been lost.
